Our headquarters are located in the scenic West Central part of Minnesota in Hawley, which is between the rolling hills and lakes of the Detroit Lakes area. in the rich farmland of Clay County and Fargo to the west. Actually this area is at the same latitude as Switzerland and Bavaria and near the geographical center of North America, occupying the highest point of land between Winnipeg, Canada and the Gulf of Mexico. Detroit Lakes offers the amenities of a full-fledged city, without loosing the friendliness typical of a small rural town. Becker county alone features 400 lakes, while Minnesota has a total of 16,000 lakes that are larger than 10 acres. Surprisingly West Central Minnesota's lakes are not muddy or filled with weeds, but many lakes have sandy beaches and a sandy bottom, which makes the land ideal for recreation. Our area is famous for its productive farm land with tree lined fields, lakefront and river property, which is still affordable, since word has not gotten out that the winters have been much milder here in the last 20 years then they used to be. Another attraction of Minnesota are its forests, they cover almost one-third of its total land area, namely four million acres and are managed to stay healthy, vital, and productive. They were established to produce timber, provide outdoor recreation, protect watersheds, and perpetuate rare and distinctive species of native flora and fauna. The real estate just west and north of us and into North Dakota is famous for the most fertile soil in all of America and just about any crop will grow and livestock will flourish as well. So if your plans include living off the land on a farm or ranch, here it still can be done without spending a fortune on Lakefront Property, Farm Land. Also the bird hunting, especially waterfowl, is excellent and farther north is excellent for game hunting as well. West Central Minnesota is a gem regarding the friendliness of the people. With all those sunny dispositions around you can get along with an overcast sky for a while. Actually the temperatures are not nearly as fierce as rumors will have them. In winter it stays above 0 most of the time with snow well below your knees, and the summers are nice and warm without getting too hot, so you can take advantage of all those lakes for boating, swimming and fishing.
